Your Inner Landscape
Explore your inner world through meditation, mindfulness, and expressive abstract painting in this immersive, creativity-nurturing workshop.
You have to know how to use the accident, how to recognise it, how to control it, and ways to eliminate it so that the whole surface looks felt and born all at once."
-Helen Frankenthaler
Your inner landscape is more than a place imagined in your mind. It is made up of memories, images, dreams, hopes, emotions, and your sense of who you are. It is the world you carry within, the home for your thoughts, feelings, and spirit.
In this immersive workshop, you'll be guided on a gentle inward journey to explore your unique inner landscape through visualisation and creative expression.
Through guided meditation, you'll be invited to connect with the images, sensations, emotions, and symbols that emerge from within. Alongside this inner exploration, we'll draw inspiration from landscape imagery and the natural world, using both observed and imagined elements as starting points for painting.
Working between what we observe and what we feel, you'll create an abstract painting that reflects your personal inner world. Through colour, shape, texture, mark-making, and intuition, you'll transform memories, emotions, and visual references into a meaningful and expressive piece of art.
The workshop invites you to explore the space where inner experience and outer landscape meet, discovering new ways to express what words cannot

About Us
Lucy and Bea met at the Essential School of Painting while taking an experimental abstract painting course. At the time, both were in the early stages of their painting careers and felt creatively stuck. The course, led by inspiring abstract painters including Johanna Melvin, completely transformed the way they approached painting.
Together they explored intuitive mark-making using not only brushes, but also rags, sponges, string and found materials. They learned to embrace mistakes, trust the process and see experimentation as an essential part of making.
Bonding over a shared curiosity and love of abstract painting, Lucy and Bea quickly became friends, encouraging one another to take creative risks. Their workshops are inspired by this experience, inviting others to let go of perfection, experiment freely and rediscover the joy of painting.
